So I’m grateful I didn’t die the other day. I was driving in my jeep back up to Rexburg, because I went to Salt Lake over the weekend. The roads were super icy and it started to snow. Well I slid off the side of the road into a ditch and it was one of the scariest moments of my life. Luckily I had four wheel drive, so I could drive out of it. I saw many other cars off the side of the road, and two trucks were trying to pull them out everywhere. One had even rolled into a ditch and was on it’s top. It was a pretty scary blizzard. Then about an hour later in the drive I hydroplaned on water, because it was an area where the snow happened to be melting rapidly so the roads were very wet. Well, I made it up to Rexburg! Angels were watching over me, and I am so grateful to be alive. The line from the song, “Count your many blessings,” “When upon life’s billows you are tempest tossed,” took on a whole new meaning and I was counting my many blessings.
Later that day I got some good news! I made call backs for the Nauvoo Performing Mission. They had 200 applicants and took 35 for callbacks being held in January. Then they will cut 15 and 20 will be called to serve a 4 month performing mission in Nauvoo, Illinois.
Timber and Kallie and I found a ladder up against a wall in Greenbriar tonight, so we leaned it up against our friends apartment and said "HI" through the upstairs window. It was fun. We also went to the Battleship Championships that were held at the Hart swimming pool. The night’s adventures ended with an exploration of places in the Hart and the new building on campus “The BYU – Idaho center.” Too bad we could only go so far, until the doors were locked when we got to a certain area. It is so huge and they are dedicating it next Friday!
I just read this post! Congratulations on making callbacks, Abby! When do you try out again? When do you find out? Exciting.
